This is just a really short blog to let you know what I’m up to this weekend and that I’m quite excited about it!
If you’ve read my About Me page then you’ll already know a bit about where Two Blogs and a Book came from.
As I write more and work towards my NCTJ qualification, I’d love Two Blogs and a Book to be a place where I can find my own writing style and for it to have potential as something that might help me with a writing career in the future.
A few years ago I wrote on a voluntary basis for a lifestyle magazine and covered a variety of topics from Fake Bake to F1. This gave me the opportunity to experience researching, interviewing and writing articles for print and online publication; something that I think was really beneficial and worthwhile. With this in mind, when a friend told me that Gusto in Cheadle Hulme wanted a food blogger to review their new Christmas Menu I thought why not go for it, it’s more experience and what have I got to lose?
I genuinely believe there’s no substitute for experience so whether I’m writing about me, books, food or even my hens, it all counts.
My friend was already one step ahead of me and had passed my details to the Business Development Manager (BDM) at the restaurant. A few messages later and they’d got back in touch and asked me to do it although then I doubted myself and wondered if I might have been the only person who contacted them!
Gusto’s Christmas Menu goes live on the 1st of December and this weekend I’ll be going to review it. I’ve been to Gusto in Manchester before and really enjoyed it, the food and the service has always been great so I’m interested to see how the restaurant in Cheadle Hulme compares; watch this space for an update!
It would be great if this was the first of many reviews and if it helps you decide where to go for a Christmas meal then even better!
